映画『Austin Powers in Goldmember』でCockney Rhyming Slang
コックニーを代表する俳優さんとして必ず名前があがるのが、イギリスを代表する男優マイケル・ケイン（Michael Caine)さん。
コメディ映画『Austin Powers in Goldmember』では、オースティンの父親役として出演しています。
「父さん、アメリカ人の女性の前で下品な話をされるなら、格調高いイギリス英語で」と言う、オースティンの提案ではじまる会話は、イギリスのスラングとコックニー・ライミング等々。確かにイギリス英語には間違いありませんが、内容は。。。後ろの女性たちは意味が分からずきょとんとしています。画面の下には英語の字幕が表示されています。
興味深いのは日本語の吹きかけ。どうやら男女の秘め事を語った源氏物語などの表現を使って、格調高いイギリス人のお下品な会話を訳しているようです。

会話の最後の方は、話の内容そっちのけ。”she was the Barrister that became a Bobby in a Lorry–“(彼女はその後トラックに乗る警官になった弁護士)などは、 ただただ、アメリカとは異なるイギリス特有の名詞を次々と並べて楽しんでいるだけのようにも聞こえます。(米語では”she was the lawyer that became a policeman in a truck–“)
