One Planet Café is a place where adults can learn a lot of things.
And it’s a place. It’s like a school for adults.
That’s we have started in the southern part of Africa in a country called Zambia.
Here you can as an adult..
Many adults have never been to schools when they were kids.
And in the area where worked so many children are going to school, but the adults don’t know what learning is about, why, maybe why education is so important for your well being, for health and for protecting the environment.
So that is why we started One Planet Café with local people together with 6 ladies and 2 men in the villages of Mfuwe, which is in the central part of Zambia.
(Q) What kind of place is Zambia?
Zambia is very peaceful country and if you compare to other African countries.
Actually it’s very, as we see it, me and my wife helped to start this One Planet Café project, as we see it, Zambia is a forgotten country, somehow. You know.
If you think of Africa, you often imagine problematic place where a lot of problems, and challenges are, but, and in Zambia, since they got their independence 40 years ago, they have never been at war.
They have been at peace almost all the time, which is very unusual.
Still it’s very poor country in the sense of the education, and 32% of the people can not read or write. “Illiteracy” in English, right? They are illiterate.
And that’s what we try to change little by little through One Planet Café.
