英会話上達の秘訣～声に出して読む

ディクテーションつまり聞き取りと、それを声を出して読むリーディングの勉強方についてブレンダン先生が解説をしてくれました。

Dictation is one of the way of learning English.

Anytime you can listen and speak at the same is very good.

So therefore if you get a script, and there is a DVD or video, and you can have script, you can try to pace, read that at the same pace as the actor or the news reader or the person on podcast, whatever.

If you can have script, just try to read at the same pace.

At the beginning, you will fail.

Too quick, I can’t do it.

Keep on doing it, doing it, doing it.

So the best way is to imitate and to pace yourself and keep up the same pace as people is reading. And yes, it works.

Because you start to listen to their intonation, and where to put the stress on the words, and where they stop and pause and breathe. And that helps students.

Because Japanese language is quite flat language.

And that is not good or bad.

That is just characteristic of Japanese language.

Some English language is very up and down, up and down.

So it’s very good to imitate with the script in your hand,a person speaking on screen, or person speaking on radio, and you can try to speak along.
